- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I went to the hospital for routine bloodworm. The hospital charged me $405.02 for the testing. When I checked the pricing at a local external lab the cost would have been approximately $20. Over 20 times the cost for the same tests, this is outrageous. The hospital charges these obsene amounts because they can. No one knows or is informed of what the prices would be prior to services being rendered. I would definitely recommend people look into using external labs over the hospital. People need to demand that fiscal responsibilty is practiced by hospitals and doctors alike to keep medical costs affordable.April 26, 2017by Tom Piccirillo
